Kibeam is transforming early literacy by merging traditional reading with innovative technology. The screen-free, AI-powered Kibeam Wand™ interacts with physical books, turning reading into an engaging experience that deepens children’s connection to stories.
Point and Press: Children select a book and activate the wand.
Interactive Reading: The wand reads aloud, asks questions, and encourages movement to maintain engagement.
Skill Development: Through games and activities, children enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and phonological awareness.
In collaboration with organizations like the University of Florida's Lastinger Center for Learning, Kibeam has launched pilot programs distributing tens of thousands of wands to families. These initiatives aim to assess the impact of interactive reading on literacy development across diverse communities.
We’re already putting this work into action through active Rotary Kibeam community service projects. A global grant has been submitted, and we’re building a scalable blueprint to help address illiteracy worldwide. Rotarians are invited to participate, whether through hands-on local service or by supporting global literacy initiatives through grant funding.
The Kibeam Wand Reading System brings play-based learning to life, embedding educational prompts directly into each book. Aligned with national literacy standards, the wand helps young readers build essential language skills through joyful, story-driven exploration, turning every page into a step toward stronger literacy.

Through a collaboration with the University of Florida's Lastinger Center, TGIG is helping distribute the Kibeam Wand along with nine carefully selected books to over 60,000 families, at no cost, through the New Worlds Reading Initiative. We're also evaluating how this technology boosts children's interest in and interaction with physical books.
We’re proud to partner with Reach Out and Read to bring the Kibeam Wand and beautifully illustrated books by author Jesse Byrd to 1,000 families across the Bay Area. During your child’s well-visit, you’ll receive a set of books and a Kibeam Wand, creating opportunities to read, play, and explore stories together at home.
